Gas Powered Games stops with crowdfunding Wildman

The problems facing a developer Gas Powered Games has stopped raising money on Kickstarter for the development of Wildman. Four days before the end of the inzamelperiode was only half of the required 1.1 million dollars.

On the Kickstarter page for Wildman is a short message to read: “the collection for this project is discontinued”. Gas Powered Games took the step shortly before the end of the month projects at Kickstarter to raise money. With four days to go, there was 504.120 dollar picked up where 1.1 million dollars, with the aim of. The chance was so small that the studio the target is met would have.

The studio sets in a statement that the collection will cease because “it should focus on ways for the studio to keep it going”, though it gives no details. In January, however, became known that the studio is in difficulties. Chris Taylor, director of the studio, made it known that he spends most of the staff had to dismiss. The announcement came at a strange time; a week after the collection for Wildman started. Taylor stated that he does not have enough money in cash to the inzamelperiode to wait.

Taylor’ll still see opportunities, for both the game and the studio. According to the director, he has “lots of phone calls and had people that Wildman would like to give”. The interested parties stated, however, that they were only with Gas Powered Games in the sea wanted to go if the Kickstarter collection would succeed. What with the remaining part of the staff of the studio is done now, the collection was discontinued is not known.

The studio is best known for the Dungeon Siege rpg-games and Supreme Commander rts games. The last game that Gas Powered Games deliver was Age of Empires Online, a free playable rts that Microsoft has made. Microsoft announced, however, at the beginning of this year that no new content will release for the game, which Gas Powered Games without work.
