Dutch pc market shrinks sharply’

Computer manufacturers shipped last year, significantly fewer pc’s for the Dutch market, according to figures from Gartner that NU.nl claims to be in his possession. The number fell by almost 11 percent; a year earlier, the decline in the number of sold pcs also already huge.

In total shipped computer manufacturers last year, 2.7 million pcs to the Netherlands, writes NU.nl. Although it is not clear how many pcs are actually sold, falls out of the figures, however, to infer that it is not really going well with the Dutch pc market: in 2011, there were still 3.1 million pcs shipped, a decline of 10.9 percent. That is a faster decline than in the rest of the world: there, the number of sold pc’s with 3.5 percent. In 2010, shipped manufacturers are still 3.5 million pcs for the Dutch market.

The launch of Windows 8 has not the revival, where many manufacturers had hoped for. In the fourth quarter of 2012, when Windows 8 just from was, were 722.000 pcs shipped. A year earlier there were 917.000; a decrease of no less than 21.3 percent. In the third quarter dropped, the number of shipped pc’s all with 33 percent.

The pc’s that are still sold, primarily from HP. In the last quarter of last year had that company on the Dutch pc market has a market share of 23.3 percent, against 16 percent for Acer, 12.2 percent for Dell and a share of 8.9 percent for the Asus. The pc market is suffering under the rise of tablets; outside the Netherlands, this trend is visible.
