Sony has at CES a prototype of an oled-television with 4k-resolution display. The electronics company wanted to have a few details to release about the device, that a screen diagonal of 56″. The company is taking with this prototype again took the lead in oled area.
During his CES presentation suggested Sony that it’s the first company is that an oled tv has been developed with a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels and a screen diagonal of 56″. It is unclear, however, when Sony a such television on the consumer market intends to introduce; the company gave for this have no details on price, while there is also no indication of price was given.
Also chose Sony, these large displays are not for low-temperature polysilicon thin-film to apply to the oled layer, but opted for oxide semiconductor tft technology. This enables smaller transistors, while the oxide tft technology also consume less energy. With these techniques, claims Sony also on a large image size to all the benefits of oled technology can deliver, such as high contrast and brightness, a fast response time and high 4k-resolution. For some difficult bumps in the development of the prototype of the 4k-oled-tv to overcome, Sony has collaborated with the Taiwanese AU Optronics.
