GoPro has HD Hero3-helmcamera’s revealed. The Hero3 is 30 percent thinner and 25 percent lighter than its predecessors, and equipped with wi-fi for wireless operation. GoPro put three different versions of the camera on the market.
The Hero3 gets a new lens, which, according to the manufacturer sharper images produces. Also, the cameras are equipped with wi-fi to with a special remote control or the GoPro app on remote operation. Just like the previous Hero cameras, the Hero3 includes a housing, which is up to 60 meters deep waterproof. The camera uses micro-sd cards with a maximum storage capacity of 64GB and is equipped with a mini-hdmi and mini-usb 2.0 connector.
The cheapest model is the White Edition, which has a suggested retail price of 249 euros. This version has a maximum resolution of 1080p with 30fps, and 720p with 60 frames per second filmed. The helmcamera shoot photos with a resolution of 5 megapixels and can take three pictures in a second with the burst mode.
The second model is the Silver Edition, which is largely the same specifications as its smaller sibling. The silver edition achieves in 960p 48fps and shoot photos at 11 megapixels, with a maximum burstrate of 10fps. The Silver Edition is going for 349 euros over the counter.
The Black Edition is the top model and must be 449 euro. The gem can output 4K images with a frame rate of 15 frames per second and 30fps at 2.7 K recording. On 1080p, it achieves this performance of the Hero3 60fps, while 100fps achieved is in the 960p and 720p resolutions. The black edition takes photos with a maximum resolution of 12 megapixels and comes with a wi-fi remote control, which allows recordings of up to 50 HD Hero cameras remotely started and stopped.
Both the Silver if the Black Edition has the ability to also be at 24fps to shoot in the ProTune mode.
