Carmageddon appears for iOS

Developer Stainless Games has released Carmageddon, the controversi lwa le racing game from 1997, to iOS ported. The game is now via the App Store to download and is free during the day of release. After that the game is an ‘introductory price’.

On October 17, is a port of Carmageddon on the App Store appeared. The introductory price of 1,59 euro, which on Thursday takes effect, suggests that the price in the future will continue to increase. Developer Stainless Games offers the game a day long for free as a thank you for the support it received on Kickstarter. The studio picked out more than 600,000 dollars for the development of Carmageddon: Reincarnation, a new pc game.

The original version of the racing game caused in 1997, a great commotion, by the bloody nature of the game, in which players are encouraged to knock down pedestrians, to drive. It led to parliamentary questions in the Netherlands. The German government forced Stainless Games even to make the game adapt. In the German version are the pedestrians replaced by zombies with green blood.

Stainless was not able to make a Carmageddon-game; after the studio separated from publisher SCi kept the rights to the name behind the publisher, which even a different studio to the franchise put. That game took out the shelves, however. After prolonged negotiations, the rights back in Stainless, that began on the development of Carmageddon Reincarnation.
