HP is Ubuntu 12.04 certify for Proliant servers

HP is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS from the certification for some of its Proliant servers, as already done for the distributions of Red Hat and Oracle. For Ubuntu it is the first certification for the Proliant Gen8 systems.

The certification of Canonicals Ubuntu distribution for HP’s eighth-generation Proliant systems enables administrators to guarantee that the software running smoothly on the hardware. Customers will be able to, among other hardwaresupport HP under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS face. Under Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE, Windows, and Oracle have already received certification. The new support is not yet updated on the website of HP.

The eighth generation of the Proliant servers improves the energy-efficiency according to HP by ten percent. The servers come with Intel Xeon E5 processors and Nvidia Tesla gpus. Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Server, 26 April. From that day on, there will be support for a select number of Proliant servers. HP and Ubuntu promise, however, more systems to submit to the testronde for certification.
