Two DFB-team, one goal: Gold in Rio

A day later than originally planned, the DFB coach Horst Hrubesch and Silvia Neid will present their squad for the Olympic games in Rio. The Bundesliga club have not made it Hrubesch easily.

That was a lot of hard work. After a very difficult, week-long negotiations, the DFB coach Horst Hrubesch has his squad jigsaw for the Olympic football tournament (4. to 20. August) is finally completed and his squad of 18 players will be presented. The big names are missing. Captain of the team is Schalke’s Leon Goretzka, also A national team player Julian Brandt of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, as expected. The three allowed “Oldie-Tickets” for players older than 23 years, went to 27-year-old twins Lars and Sven Bender, as well as the 27-year-old Nils Petersen. I am sure that with these guys, anything is possible.”
