Noctua celebrates tenth anniversary

Koelerfabrikant Noctua is ten years ago, founded as a joint venture between an Austrian and a Taiwanese company. The company, well-known by the use of the color brown, released in 2005, its first cooler.

That first towerkoelers were the NH-U12 and NH-U9, which in October 2005 appeared. Noctua still brings coolers within that series: after four generations are currently the NH-U12S, the NH-U9S and NH-U14S in the product range of the company. The whole koelerfamilie now consists of seventeen models.

In 2006, Noctua are first free mountingkit upgrade when the AMD AM2 socket introduced. Since then, the company continue to do that, also for Intel sockets, and so can the old NH-U12 and NH-U9 also now in combination with the LGA1151 platform of Intel can be used.

In mid-2006 brought the company to the NF-S12, the first fan of Noctua. The series is now in its third iteration in progress. Brown is the characteristic color of the fans of the company, but nowadays that is no longer the exclusive color. Moreover, the Noctua to project ‘Chromax’ where customers have their own color can choose to match the look of the rest of the system.

The name Noctua comes from Athens Noctua, the Latin name for owl. The company was founded in 2005 as a joint venture between the Austrian Rascom Computerdistribution Ges and the Taiwanese koelerfabrikant Kolink International Corporation.
