Apple has new iPhones have a touch screen built in that can distinguish how much pressure it is put. That brought a developer on the idea to use this technology to use for the build of a scale.

A developer with the pseudonym FlexMonkey explains on his blog how he a iPhone a scale. That he calls it the Plum-O-Meter, since the concept with a particular service should do as a way to weigh what plum the heaviest, according to FlexMonkey. The developed tool works as follows: there are two plums on the touch screen are placed, and then with a circle indicates which of the two is heavier.

Because the drukmetende capabilities in the iPhone are limited, do not indicate how heavily the on the touch screen placed plum. Instead, the software shows the normalized pressure as a percentage of the maximum pressure. The 3D Touch technology that Apple in its new iPhones has built-in is actually referred to three different pressure levels to be distinguished, on the basis of a contact of the user.

It is of course also possible to use other types of fruit, or other attributes, to use on the scales. Who was planning to grapes to roads, however, has bad luck: according to the author are that to light to the Plum-O-Meter weighted. The source code for the software is by FlexMonkey on GitHub, but an application in the App Store is not there yet.
