Volvo, a new factory in Slovakia to build electric cars

Volvo's electrification plan & egrave; very ambitious. As we know, the automaker aims to become an electric-only brand from 2030. To achieve this goal, of course, the manufacturer has the need; to increase the production of battery models. For this, Volvo has decided to invest 1.2 billion euros in building a new factory in which to produce electric cars. The new plant will rise & agrave; in Kosice, Slovakia .

The manufacturer announces that the new factory, once fully operational, will allow; to produce up to 250,000 cars per year . The construction of the plant will start; Next year. If there are no hitches, the production of the cars will begin; in 2026. The brand also added that around 20% of the investment should be covered by the Slovak government. The new factory will go to be added to those already; present in Europe in Torslanda, Sweden, and Ghent, Belgium, which have a capacity; combined annual of 600,000 vehicles.

The new plant will be; also very important for the economy of the country since it will give I work for a few thousand people. In line with the sustainability objectives; of Volvo, the factory that will be built in Slovakia will be & agrave; powered by renewable energy. Is not serious; clear which battery-powered models will be made in the new factory.

What appears really clear is; that the new factory will cover a very important role in Volvo's electric car strategy. Volvo CEO Jim Rowan , speaking about this new project, pointed out that the expansion in Europe, their most; large market, & egrave; fundamental for their transformation into an electric-only brand.
