In its survey, the Edelman Trust Barometer interviewed over 36,000 people in 28 countries during the period 1-24 November.

It turned out that German institutions are the biggest losers. Their confidence rating fell by seven points compared to the previous year, to 46.

Other countries where confidence in the government has decreased are Australia with 53 (-6) points, the Netherlands with 57 (-6), South Korea with 42 ( -5), and the United States with 43 (-5) points.

At the same time, however, more dictatorial states have experienced increased public confidence. China received a rating of 83, an increase of 11 points. For the United Arab Emirates, confidence increased by nine points, to 76, and in Thailand by five points to 66.

– We really see a collapse of confidence in democracies, says Richard Edelman, who led the survey, reports RT.
