The first HMD smartphone under its own name is called Pulse and will soon be released in India, reports MySmartPrice. The site also publishes new renders of the device. It is a budget phone.

The phone has a 13-megapixel camera and a 5000mAh battery, reports MySmartPrice in combination with OnLeaks. The HMD Pulse should be released soon in India, one of the largest markets for cheap smartphones in the world. HMD had been using the Nokia brand name since 2016, but that license is expiring and the Finnish manufacturer wants to continue under its own name.

A render of the smartphone was previously released, then under the type number N159V. It is unknown if and when the HMD Pulse will be released in Europe and when more HMD phones will follow under its own name. The manufacturer has not released any new smartphones in the Benelux this year under the Nokia name.
