The sex change law was debated during the day in the Riksdag, and the vote is supposed to be held at 4 p.m.
However, it has been warned that the vote may be postponed until tomorrow because the debate has dragged on. The Sweden Democrats, who have called in their entire Riksdag squad, had registered eight members for the speaker list. The others only had one or two each, writes Aftonbladet.
C leader Muharrem Demirok accuses SD, and also the Christian Democrats, of trying to delay the decision.
– It looks like a procrastination of SD and KD. It won't change anything in substance. It is a last straw they are grasping for.
Hanna Gunnarsson (V) writes in X that the SD is trying to “chaos” and “filibuster” the debate.
However, the SD refutes the accusations and states that it is simply an issue that engages many of the party's members.
One of SD's speakers, Mona Olin, said the following about the gender reassignment law:
