Formula 1 and Playseat have agreed a multi-year licensing agreement. Playseat will therefore release official Formula 1 products 'for both casual and professional gamers'. The company will first release a racing sim.

Playseat says it is working with Formula 1 drivers and professional sim racers to imitate the cockpit of a Formula 1 racing car as much as possible. The first product is the Playseat Formula Intelligence – F1 Edition racing sim, which features a seat that mimics the seating position of F1 drivers. Users can mount different direct drive racing wheels and pedals, with pre-drilled and customizable base plates.

This sim already existed in other colors. The F1 Edition also seems to come with a monitor bracket, which the other versions do not come with as standard. The racing sim costs 2499 euros, the same as the other versions of Formula Intelligence. In addition to the racing sim with built-in steering wheel and pedal holders, Playseat also says it will sell Formula 1 seats without the built-in steering wheel and pedal mounting points.
