LuckyChap, the production company of Barbie actress Margot Robbie, is working on a film adaptation of the life simulation game The Sims. It is directed by Kate Herron, who also directed the first season of the Disney+ series Loki.

Sims publisher Electronic Arts is also involved in the production of the film, writes The Hollywood Reporter. The company will, among other things, help with the 'creative process'. It is not yet known which actors will star in the film and when it will be released. It is also not clear what the story of the film will be, since The Sims games do not have an overarching story.

The first Sims game was released on February 10, 2000. Since then, several sequels have been released, each with dozens of have extensions. Last September, EA announced that the next Sims game will be free-to-play and will not require a paid subscription.
