Domestic. Two young men chose the “wrong” robbery victims when they happened to attack a plainclothes police officer in Vällingby. Instead of getting the long-awaited change, they were arrested on the spot, the police write on their website.

– This time the robbers chose the wrong person. You can sum it all up with the fact that it was a bad day for the two robbers but a good day for the residents of Vällingby, says Rasmus, who is group leader at the police's intervention activities.
The police in Vällingby had been paying attention for some time that several robberies were carried out at approximately the same time near the subway station.
They therefore chose to work near the subway in order to seek out and prevent more crimes.
On the evening in question, the robbers could are stopped after they select a plainclothes policeman as the intended crime victim. A police patrol had noticed that “two people dressed in dark clothing” were hiding in a thicket next to a footpath.
– We ask our plainclothes colleague to walk past the thicket to get a closer look while the police patrol is hiding further away except sight of the suspected robbers. When the colleague walks past the bushes, the two people step forward from their hiding place and start following. The suspected robbers are moving closer and closer and in order to avoid a dangerous situation with our plainclothes colleague, we go forward to intervene against the two suspected robbers, says Rasmus on the police's website.
In the intervention against the two suspects a knife was also found.
The police searched the house of one of the suspects after the arrest and were able to find goods belonging to victims of previous robberies. The duo are now under arrest for robbery and preparation for robbery.
