Domestic. The Government will give the Agency for Community Protection and Preparedness (MSB) the task of preparing a reactivation of civil duty in Sweden. This is reported by SVT Nyheter.

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M), Minister of Defense Pål Jonson (M) and Minister for Civil Defense Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M) presented the decision at a press conference during the People and Defense conference in Sälen.
A reactivation of civil service means that Swedish citizens between the ages of 16-65 can be conscripted into socially important activities such as emergency services, healthcare and childcare.
MSB calculates that approximately 3,000 people with emergency service skills can be covered by civil service in a first step.
– We do not know exactly how many may be covered by the duty. We see that the municipal rescue service today is not designed for the demands placed on high alert and ultimately an armed attack. Experience from Ukraine is clear – when it comes to protecting the civilian population, the rescue service is put under very heavy pressure, says Carl-Oskar Bohlin.
MSB should have prepared the activation by March 1 at the latest, while the work to place more with civil duty ongoing.
