Bahamian authorities arrested Bankman-Fried last week after US prosecutors alerted them that he had been indicted in New York.

A week ago the indictment became public, which showed that Bankman-Fried was charged with felony counts of felony fraud, aiding and abetting felony fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering after his crypto exchange FTX collapsed dramatically.

Bankman-Fried's attorneys requested that the judge at last week's trial in the Bahamas consider to release him on $250,000 bail, according to reports.

His attorneys said Bankman-Fried must follow his vegan diet and must take a number of medications, including the ADHD medication Adderall and the allergy medication Zyrtec. In the IT and financial industries, Adderall, which is similar to amphetamines, is also used to enhance performance at work, and people who take the drug for this purpose have become addicted.

Bankman-Fried's attorney, Jerome Roberts, said that the FTX founder can be released without any flight risk because he owns real estate in the Bahamas, according to CoinDesk.

An extradition hearing is scheduled for February 8. Bankman-Fried will be held in the Bahamas' Fox Hill Prison, known for its harsh conditions, until then.
