Speedster Merc 310: Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) spotted by XFX

The first Radeon RX 7900 XT(X) in a custom design can be seen from another manufacturer. Pictures show the RX 7900 XT(X) Speedster Merc 310 from XFX, whose air cooler is equipped with three fans. The XTX version has three 8-pin power sockets.

The basic design of the Speedster Merc series (the title picture shows the RX 6800 XT Merc 319) remains XFX according to the published pictures faithfully. The long cooler of the graphics cards towers over the dual-slot panel, which, like the other custom designs of the new generation, does not have a USB-C connection. This is apparently reserved for AMD's reference designs. Instead, there are three DisplayPorts and one HDMI.

XTX has 3 × 8 pins

The RX 7900 XT Merc 310 with 20 GB and the RX 7900 XTX Merc 310 with 24 GB look like twins. However, a difference in the power sockets can be seen in the pictures: the XT version has two 8-pin sockets and the faster XTX has three. AMD's reference design in turn provides for both 2 × 8 pins. With its RX 7900 XTX, XFX should therefore be able to rely on a larger overclocking range thanks to the extended power supply.

Instead the black backplate on the RX 6900 XT Merc 319, the pictures of the new version show a silver backplate. Details such as the clock rates are not yet known.

Details in a few days

On December 13th, the official starting signal for sales of the Radeon RX 7900 XT and Radeon RX 7900 XTX will be given. Then the last questions should be answered.

However, there are still unconfirmed rumors that there could be delays with the board partners due to driver and BIOS problems. This will also become apparent in less than a week.

At this point, the other board partners and their custom designs of the new Radeon generation should not be forgotten:< /p>
