Preview of Fritz!OS 7.50: New laboratory firmware for DSL, cable, LTE and 5G routers

AVM has released a new laboratory firmware for testing of its ADSL, VDSL, cable, LTE and 5G routers from the Fritz!Box series. The beta firmware is one of the last preview versions before the release of the upcoming Fritz!OS 7.50 router operating system and is compatible with the Fritz!Box 6850 5G for the first time.

Optimizations and error corrections

The latest beta build includes optimizations and error corrections that cover the areas of USB, internet, mesh and mobile communications.

USB:

  • [Fixed] Folders become the top level of the directory tree not displayed in the selection dialog for moving the files
Internet:

  • [Fixed] In certain scenarios, low transmission rates were achieved when transmitting large amounts of data (only 6591, 6660, 6690)
  • [Fixed] Network couplings via Options for NetBIOS filtering, all data traffic and device selection have been added to WireGuard
  • [Fixed] SMB shares, file and printer shares under Microsoft Windows and other NetBIOS-based applications were not possible via a WireGuard VPN connection< /li>
Mesh:

  • [Fixed] LED signaling was missing when activating mesh in certain cases
  • [Fixed] LED signaling was missing when starting WPS from UI
Cellular:

  • [Fixed] Some mobile phone sticks are only recognized as “Other device” and can therefore not be used

Fritz!OS 7.50 is still a long time coming

After more than 30 products have now been leaked , which are expected to receive an update to Fritz!OS 7.50, which was originally intended for release in late summer, tests with the latest Fritz!Labor builds are still in full swing – however, there is still no date for the final release.< /p>

AVM updates Fritz! Laboratory 7.39 on a total of six routers (image: AVM)

A total of six routers from the manufacturer will receive an updated system image from the Fritz! Labor 7.39 preview of Fritz!OS 7.50, including the 5G router Fritz!Box 6850 5G for the first time.

Twelve routers run with Fritz! Lab 7.39

The Fritz!Box 6690 Cable, the Fritz!Box 6660 Cable and the Fritz!Box 6591 Cable as well as the Fritz!Box 7530 and the Fritz!Box 6850 LTE have also been updated. Twelve products from the Fritz!Box and Fritz!Repeater product lines are currently available with the Fritz! Laboratory 7.39.

Note: The laboratory versions are always in a beta status. They were tested by AVM in standard environments before they were published, but can possibly lead to malfunctions.
