Apple has introduced new AirPods Pro. The new wireless in-ear headphones have the new H2 chip, which improves numerous functions with higher performance and is said to improve the connection. Apple has also revised the audio driver for a better sound, nothing has changed in the design itself.
ANC filters twice as well
The new H2 chip and better positioned microphones in combination with optimized mesh coverage should ensure that the AirPods Pro's active noise cancellation can now cancel twice as much noise. For a better individual fit, Apple is also introducing new silicone attachments in size XS, so that four sizes (L, M, S, XS) are now included.

Also new is customizable Spatial Audio, which lets users use an iPhone's TruDepth camera to create a personal profile that takes into account the shape of the user's head and ears to further enhance the simulated spatial sound.

Adaptive transparency mode filters noise
A new, adaptive transparency mode, on the other hand, no longer allows all ambient noise to reach the wearer's ears, but instead specifically eliminates annoying noises such as construction site noise or sirens, while the rest is passed through unhindered. For this purpose, the environment is evaluated 48,000 times per second in order to be able to react to sudden sound events. The transparency mode should be much more pleasant in everyday life.
Volume adjustment via touch
In addition to the familiar operation of the old AirPods Pro by pressing the handle, the new AirPods Pro also offer touch controls. The volume can be increased or decreased by swiping up or down on the stick. A new skin sensor is said to have improved wearer detection compared to the first generation.

In terms of battery life, Apple now claims up to 6 hours for the earphones with ANC activated, which is around 33 percent more than the predecessor, and up to 30 hours in connection with the charging case – a plus of 6 hours in total. If spatial audio is used, the battery life is said to be 5.5 hours.

FindMy for the charging case
The charging case also comes with other innovations. On the one hand, it can now also be charged with the Apple Watch charger and a MagSafe charger, on the other hand it has a speaker on the bottom to be able to locate it and integrates with Apple's FindMy network. This is how you can search for the charging case in the “Where is?” app if you have misplaced or lost it. The charging case is now also protected against splash water according to IPX4. The fastening eyelet for a lanyard is also new.
