25 universities, and related research centers, and 24 large companies have signed the deed of incorporation of the National Center for the Mobility & agrave; Sustainable wanted, among others, by the Politecnico di Milano. This is an ambitious project that aims to be a real tool for the growth and development of the mobility sector . The numbers speak for themselves. OBJECTIVES

The new National Center for Mobility Sustainable was created to & quot; accompany the green and digital transition from a sustainable perspective, guaranteeing the industrial transition of the sector and accompanying local institutions to implement modern, sustainable and inclusive solutions in cities; and in the regions of the country & quot ;.

This new pole is; also a response to the growth needs of a key sector for the economy that it will reach; a value of 220 billion euros in 2030 . Moreover, issues related, for example, to decarbonisation, vehicle and infrastructure safety, decongestion of transport networks and mobility; autonomous and connected are increasingly more & ugrave; relevant.

Therefore, this new pole will answer & agrave; to these needs by supporting and stimulating the demand and supply of research, technological innovation, training and skills. We will work mainly in 5 areas: mobility aerial; sustainable road vehicles; water transport; rail transport; light vehicles and mobility; active.

The National Center will take care of to make the mobility system more & ldquo; green & rdquo; as a whole and more; & ldquo; digital & rdquo; in its management, through lightweight solutions and electric and hydrogen propulsion systems; digital systems for accident reduction; more solutions effective for public transport and logistics; a new model of mobility, as a service, accessible and inclusive.

The new pole will be; structured with a central point of reference in Milan and 14 nodes distributed in a capillary way from North to South, to guarantee that territorial rebalancing underlying the initiatives indicated by the PNRR. Ferruccio Resta , Rector of the Politecnico di Milano , commented:

The National Center for Mobility & agrave; responds to one of the key missions of the PNRR: to move from research to business with a view to supply chain and extended collaboration. Strengths will be highly mature projects; technology with the specific intention of giving a concrete response to the needs of the country in a long-term perspective that exceeds the deadline of 2026. & Egrave; this is our commitment. & Egrave; this is the occasion to implement structural reforms.
