The iPhone SE 2022 is coming: This third generation of the iPhone SE line continues the line set by its predecessor from 2020. Many of the specifications of the iPhone SE 2022 therefore correspond to the iPhone SE 2020. Some of the specifications have already been leaked in recent weeks, so that we already have a very good idea of what you can expect from the model. While these specs are based on rumours, there's a very good chance that these are indeed the final specs.

In recent months, several sources have discussed how the new iPhone SE will look like. It mainly revolves around two innovations: a new chip and the addition of 5G. Many other aspects of the iPhone SE 2022 are likely to remain the same as the previous version. Still, we think that Apple is making some other adjustments in a number of aspects to keep the iPhone SE up to date. There are rumors about an improved camera, which we may see in the front camera and some camera functions for the rear camera.

iPhone SE 2022 updates: not everything is known yet
At the moment we don't know everything about the iPhone SE 2022. What we don't know yet, for example, is what kind of battery will be in this new model and how long the battery life is. With the current model, Apple promises a battery life of 13 hours for video playback, 8 hours for streaming and 40 hours for audio playback. With the iPhone SE 2022, that may be slightly longer, due to the power-related optimizations of the new faster chip.
Apple could also increase the water resistance of the iPhone SE, to equalize this with the more recent models . Since the iPhone 11, the iPhone has a rating of IP68 (30 minutes and 6 meters deep), while the iPhone SE is still IP67 (30 minutes to 1 meter deep). It is not yet clear whether Apple wants to further tinker with the existing design to improve water resistance. Other more detailed specifications of the camera have not yet been leaked.
