From 1 January, a ten-minute interview and a payment of 75 Swiss francs (approximately SEK 750) will be enough to change the gender on paper in Switzerland.

Some requirements for physical examination or hormone tests no longer exist.

A man from the canton of Lucerne in the German-speaking central part of the country saw this as an excellent opportunity to make money, reports the local newspaper Luzerner Zeitung.

In the rich alpine state, the retirement age for men is 65, compared with 64 for women. The size of the pensions varies between the corresponding 140,000 and 280,000 kronor per year.

The man decided that he did not want to wait another year for the money. And it was easily arranged by him going and registering as a woman with the authorities. writes RT.

The new gender reassignment law could be used for various molds, according to local media. Young men can, for example, register as women to avoid doing the dirty work, as military service is only mandatory for men in Switzerland. Widows can also turn themselves into widows in order to receive the higher allowances to which women in Switzerland are entitled.
