Scosche MagSafe Accessories

The Scosche brand makes all kinds of holders for, among other things, in the car. At CES 2022, the company unveiled a range of accessories that work with MagSafe. The MagicMount Pro Charge5 is a holder for your car dashboard to which you can attach your iPhone via MagSafe. At the same time, it is charged wirelessly. Since it has no official MagSafe certification, charging goes at a maximum speed of 7.5W. In addition to the dashboard version, there is also a variant for your ventilation grille and cup holder. In addition, there is also a version without charging options. If you do not have an iPhone with MagSafe, there is also a special magnetic plate so that you can also use an older iPhone. The company also comes with a parent where you can hang your own MagSafe charger.

For on the go, Scosche also comes with a range of speakers that work with MagSafe. The small BoomCanMS Portable is a small Bluetooth speaker that you can stick to the back of your iPhone via MagSafe. This will be especially useful on vacation. The larger BoomBottle Magnetic Portable Speaker is a lot bigger for better sound. You place your iPhone magnetically on top of the cylindrical speaker.

Oral-B iO10

Since 2020, Oral-B also has the iO toothbrush in addition to the well-known Bluetooth toothbrushes. This is a more advanced toothbrush with artificial intelligence and special brush heads. The new Oral-B iO10 is equipped with iOSense. The charger is equipped with indicators that show you how well you are brushing and which parts you still need to brush. It also has a countdown timer, so you know how long you need to brush. Oral-B has tried similar things with an external display in the past, but now it's built into the charger. As a result, you no longer necessarily need your iPhone with app to view this data, although you can still do that. Your brushing sessions are synced with the app.

Sengled smart lighting

Sengled makes various smart lighting including Zigbee, Bluetooth and WiFi. The Zigbee versions also work with HomeKit. One of the new models is the Smart Health Monitoring lamp. This smart bulb with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth uses radar technology to make certain health measurements. This allows it to track your sleep and measure your body temperature. Unfortunately, due to the lack of Zigbee, it doesn't work with HomeKit.

In addition, the brand also comes with the Wi-Fi Video-Sync TV Light Strips. This is a light hose that you stick behind your television, so that the colors on the wall enhance the image of your TV. A kind of Ambilight, known from the Philips TVs. The light hose uses a camera to see what is being played on your TV and then adjusts the colors accordingly. Other new accessories are the Wi-Fi Portable Lamp and the Wi-Fi Outdoor String, intended for the garden. Some of the accessories will be available in the US in Q2.

Sengled also says he is committed to supporting Matter and Thread. Matter is the smart home collaboration between Apple, Google, Amazon, Zigbee and other companies, while Thread is a smart home protocol for more stable and better connection between accessories. HyperDrive Turntable Dock for iMac

For the latest 24-inch iMac, Hyper, known for the many docks and hubs for the Mac, among others, comes with the Turntable Dock. This is a kind of plateau with extra ports on which you can place your iMac. There is a mechanism in it with which you can easily rotate the iMac 360 degrees. In terms of ports, there is an HDMI port, SD and microSD card slot, a USB-c port, four USB-a ports and power input. There's even room for external SSD storage up to 2TB. This holder will be released sometime in 2022 for a price of $199.99.

In addition, Hyper also comes with the HyperDrive Thunderbolt 4 Power Hub. This is a Thunderbolt 4 dock with multiple ports that can accommodate two 60Hz 4K displays or a single 8K display at 30Hz. It contains a 100W GaN power supply. This means that the power supply can be housed in a compact housing despite the high power. It is not yet known when it will be released and what the price will be.

Netgear Nighthawk Wifi 6E router

Although there is not yet an iPhone that supports Wifi 6E, more and more routers are becoming available. The new Netgear Nighthawk RAXE300 Tri-Band Wifi 6E router is such a suitable model. This new model supports Gigabit+ speeds of up to 7.8Gb/s. There are six antennas in it and on the back you will find five Gigabit Ethernet ports for a wired connection. The iPhone 14 is expected to support Wifi 6E.

Samsung Smart Monitor M8 with AirPlay

If you are looking for an external screen for your Mac, you can go to various brands. Apple itself only has the quite pricey Pro Display XDR, but an interesting option is the upcoming Smart Monitor M8 display from Samsung. At the end of 2020, the company already introduced the Smart Monitors with AirPlay, but the new version has a design that is very similar to Apple's latest iMac. At 11.4mm, it's 0.1mm thinner than the 24-inch iMac and the foot is very similar to Apple's most recent desktop. The M8 is a 32-inch display with USB-C and a maximum brightness of 400 nits. It is a UHD model and comes with a magnetic camera. Built-in AirPlay 2 lets you stream directly from your iPhone to the screen. The screen supports charging up to 65W. Price and release are not yet known. You can read more about Samsung's other display announcements here.

Invoxia smart collar for dogs

Dogs can be pampered with this smart collar from Invoxia. This collar has built-in GPS, but it can also keep track of all kinds of statistics about your dog. Think of respiratory rate and heart rate. The makers say it doesn't matter if your dog is long or short haired, because the collar uses advanced sensors. The collar does not need to be very tight around the neck to work properly. The collar works with Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and even mobile data. Release in Europe has not yet been announced, but in the US the collar will be released in the summer for $99.
