Smart home manufacturer Eve has been committed to exclusive HomeKit accessories for years and at CES 2022, which kicks off today, the brand announced an all-new product. The Eve Outdoor Cam is the newest member of the Eve HomeKit family and combines some of the functions of the existing Eve Cam with a handy outdoor light.

Eve Cam Outdoor announced

The Eve Cam Outdoor is a small camera that you can hang outside your front door, for example. The camera works exclusively with HomeKit Secure Video and has a resolution of 1080p at 24 frames per second (the maximum for HomeKit Secure Video). It has a viewing angle of 157 degrees and has a built-in infrared night mode. Thanks to infrared, there is also motion detection with a viewing angle of 100 degrees up to 9 meters. With the built-in microphone and speaker you can also communicate via the camera, for example if someone is at your door and you are not at home. With IP55 certification, it can also withstand a rain shower.

The extra of this camera is that the top is equipped with an outdoor lamp. With this you can not only deter burglars, but also better see who is at your door. The camera thus resembles a smaller version of the Netatmo Presence, an outdoor camera that also works with HomeKit Secure Video. Unlike Netatmo's latest outdoor camera, the Eve Outdoor Cam does not have a siren.

The new Eve Outdoor Cam works with a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection. The camera does not operate on a battery. There is no support for Thread. The dimensions are 170 x 65 x 76. In the US, the security camera will be available from April 5, 2022 for a price of $249.95.

Eve MotionBlinds rollout started

Almost a year ago, Eve and the Dutch company Coulisse announced the MotionBlinds . The two companies have teamed up to create smart HomeKit blinds. These can therefore be operated with HomeKit and Siri and connect via Thread. Thread support also allows the blinds to work with Matter, the upcoming smart home collaboration from Apple, Amazon, Zigbee, and more.

The Eve MotionBlinds work with a battery that can be charged via USB-C. No hub is needed and in addition to Thread, they also work via Bluetooth. The Eve MotionBlinds are only sold through Coulisse's sales partners. In Europe this is via Smartblinds.com. The price depends on the material used, the dimensions and more.
