Domestic. The Swede of the future is Arab, new statistics from the Swedish Migration Board show. By the end of the year, Sweden is expected to have distributed about 85,000 citizenships – almost entirely to the third world. The Arabs top the statistics, while Westerners almost completely refrain from applying for Swedish citizenship.

Statistics for 2021 up to and including the month of November show that it is still the Arab world that is most popular when Swedish rulers distribute citizenship to so-called new Swedes.

A total of 27,340 Syrians, 4,305 Somalis, 4,067 Afghans and 3,471 Eritreans received Swedish passports during the period, while only 163 Norwegians, 198 Danes and 204 Finns became Swedish citizens during the same period.

Just under 40,000 people from the Arab world alone received citizenship during the period.

At the same time, almost 50,000 Swedes emigrated from Sweden in 2021. How many of these are returning third world immigrants – if any – is not clear from the statistics.
