Audi's plan , as we know, & egrave; linked to the electrification of its car range. From 2026 only new electric models will be launched on the market. At the same time, Audi Sport is also pursuing its electrification projects for the sports range of the 4-ring house. In an interview with CNET, Linda Kurz , Audi Sport's head of product marketing, stated that Audi Sport's next challenge will be; to transform the & quot; R segment & quot; and make it completely electric.

And speaking of the future of the R8 of which we & egrave; speculated a lot in the past months, Linda Kurz pointed out that it is not; sure that a new generation of the current R8 arrives but any model that will go to replace this car will be & agrave; completely electric.

To be clear, we & ograve; does not mean that we will have a next generation R8, but whatever it will replace this model will be fully electric, whether it's called R8 or not.

So, Audi Sport's next benchmark sports car, whether it's called R8 or not, will have; of a 100% electric powertrain. Electrification will concern also the RS range . According to Linda Kurz, 80% of the RS range will be available by 2026; of some form of electrification. There will also be the first 100% electric RS models.

This is statements that in the end no longer surprise you; from time to time given Audi's global plan. What appears evident is; that over the next few years, fans of the high-performance models of the 4-ring house will have to get used to seeing them circulate silently on the road, without the classic sound of their internal combustion engines.

Meanwhile, Audi R8 & egrave; still available with combustion engine. For example, the new Audi R8 V10 RWD model with unit & agrave; from 570 CV and 550 Nm of torque you can & ograve; have starting from 168,650 euros.
