EU. The EU's plan to replace the term “Christmas period” with the more neutral “holiday period” is angering Pope Francis – who compares to Nazi Germany, reports RT.

Last week, the European Commission was forced to back away from its plan to change the language of its communication guidelines and replace the “Christmas period” with the “holiday period”.
This after the Commission received harsh criticism from the public, but also from the Vatican.
Pope Francis did not mince his words when he condemned the EU's new language proposal in connection with a flight home from Cyprus and Greece on Monday.
– In the course of history Many, many dictatorships have tried this, the pope told reporters and continued:
– Think of Napoleon, the Nazi dictatorship and the communist one. It is fashionable with diluted secularism. But this is something that has never worked.
Francis also warned the EU to tread the “path of ideological colonization”, which he believes risks creating divisions among the Member States of the Union.
