Thanks for the OTA updates & egrave; It is possible to introduce improvements to the performance of electric cars without having to touch the mechanics. Polestar has decided to take advantage of this opportunity; to improve the performance of the powertrain of the Polestar 2 Long Range equipped with two electric motors.

The automaker has therefore decided to make available to owners of this vehicle an optional OTA upgrade which significantly increases the performance of the powertrain. Once installed, the electric machine will be able to count on 350 kW (476 hp) with 680 Nm . So that's an increase of 50 kW and 20 Nm of torque.
Thanks to this additional power, the sedan will be; capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds . In essence, these are the improvements made in the version of the Polestar 2 which made its appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2021 in July.
Currently, this optional update is; available for a while of days only in some selected European countries (United Kingdom, Holland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark, Germany and Austria), within the online shop Polestar Extras and only for all those who bought the car in cash (no leasing and fleet cars). Once the package is purchased, the customer's car will receive & agrave; automatically upgrade which unlocks more power. The cost is; of about 1,000 euros. According to the manufacturer, this update is; been downloaded already; over 400 times.
This novelty demonstrates all againpotential of connected cars . Thanks to a simple OTA update that does not require the intervention of any technician, the cars can be equipped with new features; or they may receive a performance improvement.
