On September 8 this year, one of the police's dog team was on a cycle path that leads between national road 68/69 and Hantverksvägen in Fagersta.

The dog, who was actually working on another mission, felt human weather and in a forest area along the bike path, a hiding place with explosives and detonators was found./p>

The police started a preliminary investigation into preparations for general destruction and have since taken several investigative measures. At present, no person is suspected of the crime.

The police are leading the preliminary investigation and the picture is that the explosive (approximately 5 kilos of dynamite) and the detonators have most likely been handled by one or more people who are in criminal environments. The police's picture of when and how the explosive was intended to be used remains unclear. The police do not want to comment further on the circumstances surrounding the find.

When the discovery was made, there was no outside person nearby, but the police suspect that someone was at the scene in the near future, at most a couple of days before the explosive and detonators were found. p>

The police see the seizure in itself as valuable, among other things, based on the fact that it can now not be used for criminal activities, but hope to get new information to move forward in the investigation. According to the police, it is extremely important to obtain tips and observations about the location of the find both before and after September 8. A task that is deemed uninteresting may be valuable to the investigation and the police are interested in obtaining all kinds of information about the case. Tips and observations are provided to the police via 114 14 or the police's website, “Tip the police”.
