With the Nitro XV272UKF, Acer introduces a new gaming monitor whose special feature is the high refresh rate of 300 Hz for WQHD resolution. The CB273U offers the same resolution, but is aimed at professional users. Instead of a lot of Hertz, there is USB-C with up to 90 watts and Ethernet.

XV272UKF offers WQHD with 300 Hz

< p class = "p text-width">There have been monitors with 360 Hz for a long time, but they only use the Full HD resolution with 1,920 × 1,080 pixels. With WQHD with 2,560 × 1,440 pixels, the limit was previously at a maximum of 240 Hz. But it was only a matter of time before this limit fell. Acer is now breaking the limit with the 27-inch monitor Nitro XV272U KF, which should reach 300 Hz at this resolution. An IPS panel (“Agile Splendor IPS”) trimmed for fast switching times is used, which according to Acer should enable a response time of 0.5 ms (GtG) in the best case. Since the manufacturer's specifications are practically never achieved in independent tests, this value should also be treated with caution.

The Nitro XV272U KF supports AMD FreeSync Premium and should meet the requirements of DisplayHDR 600, which means a luminosity of at least 600 cd/m². The DCI-P3 color space should be covered to 90 percent. That Acer with a color difference of Delta E & lt; 1 is unusual for the gaming segment. With integrated sensors, brightness and color temperature can be automatically adjusted to the ambient light.

The connections include USB-C with up to 65 watts of charging power. While a detailed data sheet is not yet available, the images reveal that there are also two HDMI 2.0s, four USB-A (two on the side) and a headphone jack. A DisplayPort 1.4 for 300 Hz is at least likely.

With a versatile adjustable base, the Nitro XV272U KF will be available from November at an RRP of 1,149 euros. This is a very high price for a 27-inch WQHD monitor, but so far no other offers 300 Hz.

CB273U with USB C, network and KVM

Acer intended the CB273U more for image editing and design. The 27-inch monitor also uses the WQHD resolution and IPS, but not 300 Hz – so far without further details, only 60 Hz can be expected. With 8 bit color depth, the monitor is set to a color difference of Delta E & lt; 1 calibrated. Thanks to USB-C with up to 90 watts, additional USB sockets and a gigabit network connection, the monitor can be used as a docking station for a notebook. There is also a KVM switch function.

In addition to measures to reduce short-wave blue light and flicker-free background lighting, the low-dimming technology should also make working easier for the eyes. Acer understands low dimming as the ability to reduce the brightness to up to 15 percent. According to Acer, standard monitors can only be dimmed to 30 percent.

The CB273U should also be available in November and cost 449 euros (RRP).
