The third generation of the Mazda2 is; released in 2014 and 2022 should be replaced by a new model. This car & egrave; was intercepted during some road tests. The spy photos have made it possible to discover that the new Mazda2 will be nothing else; than the Toyota Yaris with Mazda logo and with very small other tweaks. In fact, the car in the images has the Mazda logo which, even if covered by stickers, is still visible on the back.
The news is not surprising because; the collaboration between the two manufacturers has been going on for some time and already; Mazda had previously indicated that a new model based on the hybrid Yaris was planned to be launched in Europe to meet the ever-increasing emissions regulations; strict.
Remember, Toyota has a similar agreement with Suzuki which led to the birth, for example, of Suzuki Across, basically the Toyota RAV4 with a different logo. The future Mazda2, therefore, will have; the forms of the Yaris and will adopt & agrave; its current Full Hybrid powertrain . Very unlikely that it will also be offered with other engines since Mazda was talking about the hybrid in the past. The interior does not look well, but even here there should be no particular differences except in terms of the logo and a few other details.
Likely, the car will be; built for Mazda by Toyota together with the Yaris in its factory in the north of France. The Yaris & egrave; also served to Toyota as the basis for the Cross version recently arrived in Italy. Hardly, for & ograve ;, will arrive & agrave; also a version with the Mazda logo. When will it be? presented the new model? There is no official information but the spy photos suggest that the announcement may not be far off. The marketing, however, will start & agrave; from next year. It is even possible that at the beginning the current Mazda2 and the next one based on Yaris coexist within the list.
