The man, Peyman Kia, was born according to Samhällsnytt in the Iranian capital Tehran and immigrated to Sweden in 1985.
Today he is top manager at the National Food Administration where he is responsible for safety issues and has, according to own statement, previously worked at Säpo and the Swedish Armed Forces. The suspicions relate to crimes committed during the time he worked for these authorities.
When the man was first arrested, he was suspected of espionage, but the man was arrested as a suspect with another criminal classification.
