KIA relies heavily on its new electric EV6 (VIDEO) which will be & agrave; the first of a series of models that will be based on the E-GMP platform . Last August, an Auto Express report added some more detail on the Korean automaker's electrification strategy. According to what emerged, two more battery-powered models based on the same architecture should debut within 2-3 years.
The first, in particular, should be called EV4 and it will be & agrave; of a crossover whose measures will be lower than those of the current EV6. TWO BATTERY CUTS
The car is characterized by a very inclined windshield and a front where there are LED headlights with a different design from that of the EV6. On the side, however, the KIA EV4 of the render has some elements reminiscent of the e-Soul. From the point of view of technical specifications, the EV4 should have many of the solutions present on the EV6. In particular, in addition to being based on the E-GMP platform, the future electric crossover should use the 58 kWh and 77.4 kWh batteries of the more model; great.
Furthermore, the EV4 should be offered both with a single engine and with two electric powertrains that will also make all-wheel drive available. On the development of this very interesting car on paper it is not possible to to do is wait for further news. After the EV4, KIA porter & agrave; at the debut another battery-powered model of which, at the moment, little is known except that it will have; particularly generous dimensions and which, for this reason, could be called EV7, EV8 or EV9.
The future KIA EV4 will do & agrave; part of the 11 electric cars that the brand will launch; by 2025. Only 6, however, will be based on the E-GMP platform. The others, on the other hand, will be derived from endothermic models and therefore will have a different platform.
