Abroad. The Russian state energy giant Gazprom now announces that the gas pipeline Nord Stream 2, which partly passes through Sweden's economic zone in the Baltic Sea, has been completed, reports AFP.

The 120 km long gas pipeline will double the delivery capacity from Russia to Germany and has been the subject of several controversies.
The launch of Nordstream 2 was stopped just before Christmas and stood still for a while after US sanctions against Russian-European cooperation. Several German companies were subject to US sanctions.
Shortly afterwards, the German government warned the US to intervene in EU energy policy, and the project was completed with the help of Russian companies.
