Schnehagem, who has worked with humanitarian aid in Afghanistan since the 1980s, continues:
– I always ask people: why do not you go to Saudi Arabia, where they are Muslims and have your culture? The answer is always: no, Germany is better.
Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the Afghans build a future at home – otherwise “the consequences for Europe will be predictable”, says Sybille Schnehagem.
