As AMD CEO Lisa Su announced during the mandatory investor call for the current quarterly figures, the next generations of Ryzen, Radeon and Epyc are on schedule for a scheduled publication in the coming year.

Ryzen 7000 and Radeon RX 7000 are coming in 2022

For shareholders and investors of the company, AMD CEO Lisa Su expressed her confidence with regard to the release of the CPUs and APUs based on Zen 4 and the GPUs based on RDNA 3. Accordingly, the new products are on schedule for 2022.

We remain on-track to launch next-generation products in 2022, including our Zen 4 processors built with industry-leading 5nm process technology and our RDNA 3 GPUs.

Raphael can be expected as desktop processors of the Ryzen 7000 series in the LGA 1718 socket with DDR5 without PCIe 5.0, the Zen 4 APUs of the Phoenix and Genoa types as Epyc 7004 with up to 96 – Zen 4 cores for the server.

In addition, with the Radeon RX 7000 series and Navi 31 based on RDNA 3, a change in the multi-chip module design with a total of 3 dies and up to 15,360 shaders and 512 MB Infinity Cache is expected.

The graphics processors of the “Navi 3x” type are to be provided in 2022 as Navi 31, 32, 33 and 34 from the high-end range down to the “entry level”. The two smaller chips could, however, continue to rely on a monolithic design of the chip, while the Navi 31 and 32 should follow the MCM approach.

Zen 5 already named as the successor for 2023/24

The successors Ryzen 8000 (“Granite Ridge”) and Strix Point, which are expected from 2023/2024, and for the first time also in the big.LITTLE -Concept, as well as Epyc 7005 (“Turin”) have also already been named and should be based on the Zen 5 architecture, which is expected to be manufactured in 3 nm.

It will also be interesting to be able to see how and in which products the manufacturer uses the 3D V-Cache Technology with the stacked L3-Cache. Their production is to start this year, but delivery is not expected to take place until the beginning of 2022.
