Abroad. Criticism is now growing against US President Joe Biden being allowed to continue as president. The reason is a TV appearance on Thursday where he occasionally gave a confused and demented impression.

Biden, who has been criticized for rarely giving interviews or appearing on television, unlike his representative Donald Trump, began Wednesday's CNN broadcast “Presidential Town Hall” with allegations that even CNN was forced to dismiss as fake.
Among other things, Biden urged more people to get vaccinated against covid, and claimed that those who do will not get sick. The president even claimed that the vaccine protects against the more aggressive delta variant of the virus. These are allegations that are not true, CNN states in a “fact check”.
Furthermore, Biden gave incorrect information about a recently introduced tax deduction for families with children, he claimed, incorrectly, that new car prices did not rise during the corona pandemic and he is criticized in order not to keep track of how many American workers are covered by non-compete clauses.
But what got the most reactions is not all the factual errors Biden delivered, but that he occasionally during the hour-long meeting lost the thread for longer periods and began slur and stutter incoherently. Among other things, he began to frolic about “the man on the moon”, while CNN anchor Don Lemon did not seem to know what to do. He also wrongly claimed that Republican Senator Rob Portman is sitting in the House of Representatives, something he has not done in over fifteen years.
On social media, many believe that Biden's performance on Thursday is a stronger sign that he develops dementia. “He seems to be getting worse,” one person wrote in a comment on Youtube. “He's obviously not capable of being president,” states another.
