Motorsport is enriched with a new series featuring electric cars. In fact, the E-STC Series (Electric Super Touring Car Series) kicks off this weekend, the world's first electric Super Turismo Championship with cars derived from the series. The first race will take place; at the 'Enzo e Dino Ferrari' racetrack of Imola. However, this is only a first taste of this new series as the official start will be; given next 10-12 September in Varano de & rsquo; Melegari as part of the Formula X Racing Weekend.
The appointment in Imola, even if it will take place; following the rules of the championship, will not award; points for the final classification.
TESLA MODEL 3 ON THE TRACK 
For the moment, Tesla Model 3 Performances specially modified by the American tuner Unplugged Performance will take to the track. There is talk of 470 hp (346 kW) and 1,000 Nm of torque. The speed maximum reaches 260 km/h, while it will take 2.9 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h. The configuration foreseen for the championship will allow; also for teams to be able to deal with both the Sprint series and both the Endurance series at the best of performance, ensuring the correct mix between performance and sustainability.
The Imola appointment will be broadcast live on MS Motor TV (channel 229 Sky) and live streaming on the championship's social channels. The program includes free practice sessions on Saturday 17 July, while at 17:30 scatter & agrave; the hunt for the fastest lap in the Superpole challenge The two races will then take place on Sunday 18 July, with the first heat at 9:30 am and the second scheduled at 6:00 pm.
Curiosities, during the weekend, owners of 100% electric cars will be able to take to the track in shifts of 20 minutes at a cost of 60 euros each. It will be it is mandatory to use a helmet. Luca Panizzi , E-STC Series organizer, commented:
