Cupra ready to debut in the PURE ETCR championship

Cupra & egrave; ready to debut in the PURE ETCR championship . Together with Zengo Motorsport Team, the Spanish brand will porter & agrave; on the track his Cupra e-Racer with drivers Mikel Azcona, Jordi Gen & eacute ;, Mattias Ekstr & ouml; m and D & aacute; niel Nagy at the wheel. The first appointment of this series will be held; in Vallelunga on the weekend from 18 to 20 June. The new PURE ETCR aims to demonstrate the potential of electric technology in motorsport.

THE 2021 CALENDAR

This championship promoted by Eurosport Events just like the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR). Participants will be divided into groups that will compete in short races of 8-10 km in which they will have tools such as the & ldquo; Power-up & rdquo; which allows you to have additional power to overtake or to protect your position. Depending on the results of these challenges, the final rounds will be assigned, in which you will decide; the winner and the rest of the standings, with races of 12-15 km. The winner will be awarded 30 points.

The cars are all similar by regulation and this should allow to make the races more & ugrave; balanced and fought. The engine can not & ograve; have a power greater than 500 kW. The capacity of the battery will be for all of 65 kWh. The only areas where & egrave; granted a margin of customization and adaptation by the brands are the chassis, aerodynamics and body dimensions. Below is the complete calendar of the 2021 season .

  • 6-8 August & ndash; Copenhagen (Denmark)

CUPRA E-RACER

The new Cupra e-Racer was first presented as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2018. The final version was shown in February 2020, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the birth of the Cupra brand. Since its debut, has traveled more; of 5,000 km which allowed the technicians to fine-tune it. Xavi Serra, Technical Development Manager of CUPRA Racing, commented:

The design and development of CUPRA e-Racer is; one of the most important projects; exciting and stimulating in which I have been involved. & Egrave; The road we have traveled has been a long one, with thousands of kilometers of tests in different parts of Europe and in different conditions to be able to underline the true potential of this extraordinary racing tourism.
