– That we have reached half of the adults with at least one dose of vaccine is a milestone to rejoice over and we have also come a long way with the second dose that provides full protection, says Johan Carlson , Director General of FHM, in a statement.

Since its inception on December 26, 2020, 4.1 million people have received at least one dose, of which 2.2 million have also received a second dose. This means that 51 percent of everyone over the age of 18 has received a dose and that 27 percent has now received a second dose. It shows data from the National Vaccination Register.

The elderly have been given priority. Among those who are 65 years and older, 91 percent have received at least one dose and 63 percent are fully vaccinated.

Vaccine coverage is lower among people born outside Sweden, but the latest statistics show that the proportion vaccinated in that group has increased the last few weeks.

– It is not only enough with a high vaccination coverage, it must be evenly distributed so that there are no local outbreaks in places where many are unvaccinated, says Johan Carlson.
