HMD Global is launching two new Nokia feature phones at prices starting at 35 euros. The simple pushbutton phones Nokia 105 and Nokia 110 support 4G and thus VoLTE calls for the first time. Classic cell phones with a very long battery life are particularly suitable for leisure time, for example in the disco or at the lake.

The lowest price segment at Nokia will be served by the Nokia 105 4G and 110 4G, with availability in the course of the third quarter. As the abbreviation in the name already shows, these are phones with LTE support, which Nokia has not previously offered in this price range. When logged into the LTE network, calls can be made with a higher voice quality via VoLTE. Both phones support dual SIM with dual standby, and LTE is supported on bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 20.

Phone without camera

The telephones are particularly suitable for purposes to which the expensive full-fledged smartphone should not be exposed. That can be the night in the disco, the day at the lake, in the swimming pool or in the amusement park. Practical with the cheaper Nokia 105: Because there is no camera, you can't even get into trouble with explanations in sensitive places such as in clubs or at restrictive workplaces. The Nokia 110, which is offered for 39.90 instead of 34.90 euros, comes with a QVGA camera on the back that works with 0.08 megapixels (320 × 240).

3.5 mm jack and flashlight integrated

The devices share the 121 × 50 × 14.5 mm housing, which is available in blue, red and black on the Nokia 105 and in yellow, “aqua” and black on the Nokia 110, despite the slightly different features. At 84.5 g, the model with the camera weighs around 4 g more than the one without. Both phones use Micro-USB 2.0 at the foot end and offer a 3.5 mm jack socket and a flashlight at the head end.

Long battery life and radio without headphones

The 1,020 mAh battery can be removed from the device after removing the rear shell and is intended to ensure long battery life. Depending on the single or dual SIM usage, HMD Global indicates standby for 2G 18/13 days, for 3G 14/11 days and for 4G 14/12 days. Talk times are 16 hours for 2G, 6 hours for 3G and 5 hours for 4G. A playing time of 36 hours is specified for the respective integrated FM radio, which does not require a headset as an antenna .

MP3 player only for Nokia 110

In terms of software, the phones with Series 30+ run on a Unisoc T107 with 128 + 48 MB (reserved) memory. Only in the Nokia 110 can a microSD card with a maximum of 32 GB be inserted, which can then also be used to use functions such as the integrated MP3 player, which is missing in the Nokia 105. The software also includes simple games and access to the Internet. Social media, messenger and Google apps, such as those offered by HMD Global on selected more expensive features phones such as the Nokia 6300, are currently not available. The editorial team is still in consultation with the manufacturer about the exact range of apps.
