MSI uses the digital electronics fair Computex 2021 to unveil expected AM4 mainboards with passively cooled X570 chipset. The manufacturer has published first pictures of the MAG X570S Tomahawk WiFi Max and MAG X570S Torpedo Max. Further boards from the MPG and MEG series will follow later in the year.
The MAG X570S Tomahawk WiFi Max is a revised version of the mainboard introduced by MSI in 2019 Form factor ATX, in which the manufacturer dispenses with active cooling of the X570 chipset by means of a small fan. The MAG X570S Torpedo Max does not have an active cooling solution of the PCH either, but in contrast to the Tomahawk it is a completely new development of the X570. So far there was a Torpedo mainboard for AMD Ryzen at MSI only with a B550 chipset.

The second X570 mainboard reissued by MSI, the MAG X570S Torpedo Max, is not exactly identical to the non-MAX model in terms of appearance. Small adjustments should reduce the risk of confusion.
