It would have been held in August in Singapore, but the focus is now instead on the first half of 2022. ”Unfortunately, the tragic circumstances surrounding the globe, the difficult travel situation, the varying vaccination rate and the uncertainty about new virus variants together have made it impossible to realize a international meeting with business, government and civil society leaders of the size we had planned “, writes the WEF in a statement. A date for the next annual meeting has not yet been decided. The Switzerland-based organization WEF usually meets in Davos in January, but had planned to move the 2021 annual meeting to Singapore in August due to the contagion situation.
