The Stellantis Group, in April, presented a plan with which it aims to develop Fuel Cell solutions mainly dedicated to commercial vehicles. Here comes the first Opel branded proposal. This is the new Opel Vivaro-e HYDROGEN based on the current electric version of the Opel Vivaro van. From an aesthetic point of view, nothing changes, so it is; such as versatility; of this medium from the point of view of the capacity; of loading.

TECHNICAL FEATURES 45 kW Fuel Cell system , 3 total 4.4 kg hydrogen tanks and a 10.5 kWh battery with 90 kW power. The electric motor is; from 100 kW. More specifically, the fuel cells allow to deliver enough energy to move the van at speed; constant.

When more power is required, as in acceleration, the battery also intervenes in order to supply the electric motor with sufficient energy. This scheme allows the fuel cells to function in optimal operating conditions, increasing their life. The total autonomous exceeds 400 km (WLTP). The van has regenerative braking and the battery can & ograve; be recharged through an external connector as in all electric.

< p> The scheme adopted also allows the van to be able to move with only the energy supplied by the battery. In this case you can travel 50 km. Useful option in case of running out of hydrogen in the tanks. Speaking of refueling, Opel points out that a full tank of hydrogen takes about 3 minutes. Vivaro-e HYDROGEN will be manufactured by Opel Special Vehicles (OSV) at R & uuml; sselsheim.

Opel will offer; the new Vivaro-e HYDROGEN in two lengths: 4.95 and 5.30 meters. The automaker plans to start delivering the first vehicles to fleets in the fall. Prices have not yet been disclosed.
