Domestic. Today, charges were brought against the 22-year-old Afghan Tamim Sultani, who on March 3 stabbed seven people in Vetlanda. He is charged with attempted murder in seven cases.

A total of seven men were attacked in various places in central Vetlanda. All victims of crime were caused very serious stab wounds that required hospitalization. The condition of four of them was directly life-threatening.
– The suspected perpetrator has in diffuse police interrogation had vague memories of the incident, but has admitted that he attacked at least some people with a knife. He has not been able to provide a reasonable or more detailed explanation for his actions. The suspected perpetrator has had periods of mental illness that increased in the time before the act, says chamber prosecutor Adam Rullman, who led the preliminary investigation together with chamber prosecutor Martin Svensson.
– Nothing has emerged in the investigation that indicates that the acts were planned. There is no connection between the victim and the suspected perpetrator. Everything indicates that the victims are randomly selected, says chamber prosecutor Adam Rullman.
