Ahmadinejad wants to be president again

Abroad. Iran's former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad now states that he will run in the next presidential election in June, reports Reuters.

The hardline politician was president of Iran between 2005 and 2013. Ahminejad was then unable to run in another election due to time constraints on how long a president can sit, and was replaced by current president Hassan Rouhani. .

Mahmoud Ahminejad drew attention in the West for his strong anti-Israel commitment and for organizing an international cartoon competition on the Holocaust.

He now promises “fundamental reforms” of Iran's political system of he will be elected in this summer's presidential election.
