Scarlett Johansson receives honorary award at MTV gala

The award has previously been awarded among others Sandra Bullock, Jim Carrey, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx.MTV revealed last week that it will honor Sacha Baron Cohen with the gala comedy award Comedic Genius Award. Together with Mark Ruffalo, she urged colleagues to raise their voices and take a step away from the journalist organization which, according to the actor, was “legitimized by Harvey Weinstein's likes”. She mentioned “uncomfortable” press conferences in connection with the gala where members of HFPA often with sexist issues that sometimes bordered on sexual harassment.
