Mercedes has communicated that & egrave; production started of its new electric flagship EQS in Factory 56 inside the Sindelfingen plant. This is the first electric model to leave the production lines of this advanced plant of the German brand. Inside there are already; the S-Class, in the long wheelbase version and the Mercedes-Maybach version.

For Mercedes, this production site embodies the future of manufacturing . His activities are characterized by maximum flexibility. The new models, in fact, can be integrated into production in a few days. The processes and systems within the hall can therefore be precisely adapted to the requirements of the EQS electrical model. Inside the factory, the digital ecosystem MO360 is used which provides perfect support to the more than 1,500 employees of the site in their work. Thanks to digitization, Mercedes & egrave; managed to improve the efficiency of making cars.
Factory 56 & egrave; also a zero-carbon factory . The energy requirement & egrave; 25% lower than that of other assembly structures. On the roof & egrave; present a photovoltaic system which makes it possible to cover about 30% of the annual energy requirement. To store excess energy production, it is present an accumulation system made with the batteries of the cars of the capacity; 1,400 kWh. The innovative solutions applied within this production site will then be gradually integrated into the other factories of the German brand.
The EQS, please note, is; a very important model for the car manufacturer's electrification strategy and contains several advanced technologies including the new MBUX Hyperscreen infotainment system. Two models will be available at launch with an autonomy that will be able to; reach 770 km thanks to the presence of a 107.8 kWh battery . Currently, the German brand is also working on an AMG version that will be able to & agrave; have a powertrain capable of delivering 560 kW.
